Hiring with xTier — questions we get.

How fast can I see candidates?

Most contract roles get a 3–5 person shortlist within 48 hours. Permanent searches typically deliver an initial slate within 5–7 business days, depending on seniority and clearance requirements.

What does it cost?

Contract: a transparent markup over the contractor pay rate — disclosed upfront, no surprise margin compression. Permanent: a flat percentage of first-year base salary with a 90-day replacement guarantee. Executive search is engaged on a retained basis.

Do you handle Ontario compliance for us?

Yes. xTier is a licensed Ontario Temporary Help Agency. Every contract engagement includes WSIB coverage, classification review, T4/T4A handling, and ESA-compliant agreements. We can also provide a copy of our THA licence on request.

Can you convert a contractor to permanent?

Yes — contract-to-hire is one of our most-used engagements. Conversion fees scale down each month and reach zero at month six. Terms are agreed before the engagement starts, in writing.

What if a placement doesn't work out?

Permanent: 90-day replacement guarantee. Contract: notice periods are mutually agreed; if a contractor isn't a fit in the first two weeks, we replace at no charge.

Do you staff outside Ontario?

Our licensed home base is Ontario. We can support placements in BC and Alberta on a case-by-case basis through partner networks — talk to us about your specific need.
